I honestly do not feel in control of my artistic process other than the actual opening of the tubes of paint and mixing colors. Even at that there is an instinct to flow with whatever comes to me. There is no premeditation or brainstorming, I start painting immediately. If there is too much time given to thinking about a painting beforehand it puts a damper on the potential of flow I could be swimming in. This piece is a perfect example of this. There are a lot of different colors in this piece and that was what my soul wanted to express at that given moment. The squares have become a conscious choice up until that point. The organic shape mingling with the rigid, geometric shapes is so pleasing to the eye. The dots are a delicate addition to my pieces that are so minute but so important. 24" x 24"
