To me a painting starts with a mood, my mood to be precise. My mood the day I make a piece is important in many ways. For this piece I began it feeling slightly frustrated for personal reasons. This one began as something totally different. I made a background with blues and reds and just did not like it. I let the canvas dry and repainted over it a few days later. Because this piece had been given a bad rep, by me of course, I was hesitant to start it all over again but I did. I finally was enjoying the background I had created and went in inspired by a past painting I had made with the same cloud-like form, a yellow and purple version. I let it flow and come out as it did and to pay homage to the past painting I had made (yellow and purple version) I added in yellow squares and was so happy it worked out.
